The first ever nationwide awards primarily focused on Tanzanian agriculture known as TUZO ZA KILIMO will be held in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The awards ceremony will enthusiastically celebrate hard work, dedication, Innovation and excellence in the Agriculture Value chain in Tanzania in over 20 various categories at an event slated for April, 2019..

Agriculture is the heart and backbone of Tanzania national economy, creating employment to over 67% of its population, directly and indirectly and contributing an estimated 13.9Bn Usd to the Nation.

The award aims to mutually recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements of aspiring and most innovative game-changer in the agriculture sector that have contributed positively to Tanzania’s status as a regional leader.

Acting Executive Director of TCCIA Fatuma Hamis stated “We are constantly looking to expand ways to motivate, empower and celebrate innovation in various sectors. We are proud and excited to be part of this awards in the agriculture sector and its value chain for the first time in Tanzania. This is as an opportunity to flash a light on those who at present deliver a significant contribution to our country’s economy and to foster the emerging generation which will take this sector forward into the future.”

It is widely recognized that there is precisely a vibrant and promising future ahead for the agribusiness sector in this region, through the economic initiative of His Excellency President of United Republic of Tanzania Dr. John P Magufuli who is spearheading the industrialization of Tanzania’s Economy and promoting “Made in Tanzania products”.

“Agriculture produce and its byproducts form the basis of raw materials required in various industry, therefore there is a valid reason to identify different categories in this sector and award its most excellent player aimed at motivating others to learn from the best in this sector and generate a sustainable agriculture industry” added Ms Hamisi

The application process for the 2019 awards will officially begin on Monday 25th March and close on at Midnight of 15th April 2019. Farmers, Business entities, Organization and everyone within the Agriculture Value chain may apply in various categories which fit them best according to the rules and regulations. Forms will be available at All regional TCCIA offices within the Country and Online.
